Paul Sperling is a born and raised Staten Islander running to represent Staten Island & South Brooklyn in Congress (NY-11).
As a born and raised Staten Islander, Paul understands the issues we face in our community everyday; waking up prepared for a 2-hour commute, just to have the bus pass you by, or the ferry doors slam in your face; sending our children to over-crowded schools, driving on our crumbling roads, stagnated wages, the rising cost of living, the lack of public transit options, and so much more.
As a Political Scientist, Paul has studied constitutional law & international relations. He understands the ins-&-outs of our government. This knowledge has led to Paul’s work on the ground, to pass effective legislation to improve our community.
As an Organizer, Paul worked successfully, to pass the NYC Community Safety Act, which brought down the inhumane practice of Stop & Frisk, while making NYC safer than ever. He also worked to pass regulations on NSA spying, after unconstitutional domestic surveillance was revealed by Edward Snowden.
As an Entrepreneur, Paul understands that the economy only works when it is working for everybody. And that the way to grow the economy is to put more money in the hands of working people, not just the millionaires and billionaires. As our next Congressperson, Paul will fight to make sure that the millionaires and billionaires pay their fair share, and that our working class gets a raise.
